Recorder soloist Alicia Crossley celebrates the virtuosity and versatility of the bass recorder on her new album Bass Instincts <\/em>released on the Move label. The bass recorder is an exquisite instrument that has evolved from its humble consort roots into a virtuosic solo instrument<\/p>\n

After the success of her ARIA nominated album Muse, Alicia is thrilled to be launching her 4th solo album, Bass Instincts <\/em>featuring a wonderful array of musical genres and compositional styles. Seven specially commissioned compositions were written by some of Australia\u2019s leading female composers, explore the beautifully deep earthy tone and mellow, haunting characteristics of the bass recorder, expressed\u00a0by Alicia’s talent and skill.<\/p>\n

The diversity of compositions perfectly showcase the virtuosity, versatility and the instinctive musicality of the bass recorder. From sultry blues-inspired compositions to minimalistic meditative musings, Bass Instincts<\/em><\/p>\n
