The Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra has announced the release of its debut album, Perspective & Celebration. <\/em>The ensemble, comprising some of Australia’s most highly respected performers, is renowned for its adoption of historically informed practices in performance.<\/p>\n

Featuring music by Beethoven and Mendelssohn, Perspective & Celebration <\/em>is also the debut release on the orchestra\u2019s own record label, ARCOLIVE, and will be available on CD, on all streaming platforms, as a high resolution digital download through the orchestra\u2019s website, arco.org.au, and through Bandcamp.\u00a0The orchestra has worked with expert producers and engineers to capture their acclaimed live performances for this CD release and have a significant archive to draw on for future releases. Multi-media artwork by Lisa Goldberg is featured on this new label.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Perspective & Celebration <\/em>features performances from the last ten years, including a recording from the ensemble\u2019s first-ever public performance. The album also features Richard Gill AO conducting Mendelssohn\u2019s stormy and dramatic Overture to The Hebrides<\/em>, popularly known as the \u2018Fingal\u2019s Cave\u2019 overture.<\/p>\n

Founded in 2013 under the artistic direction of the lauded musician and educator, the late Richard Gill AO, and now led by co-artistic directors Nicole van Bruggen and Rachael Beesley, the orchestra explores forgotten techniques and performance styles to bring historical insights and new perspectives to masterpieces from the Classical and Romantic periods.\u00a0<\/p>\n
