Regarded as Australasia\u2019s richest and most prestigious singing competition it aims to identify and encourage talented young classical singers.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The semi-finalists are, from NSW, mezzo-sopranos <span style=\"font-family: var(--global-body-font-family);\"><span style=\"font-family: var(--global-body-font-family);\">Cassandra Doyle 22 and Ellena Hicks 23,\u00a0 sopranos Yvette Keong 25, and Eden Shifroni 23, and baritone Daniel Ott 22; from New Zealand, soprano Michaela Cadwgan 25, and tenor Emmanuel Fonoti-Fuimaono 25; from WA baritone Benjamin Del Borrello 22; and from VIC sopranos Rachel Joyce 25 and Amelia Wawrzon 23.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Open to classical singers under the age of 26, the ten semi-finalists will perform in the semi-finals concert on Sunday 23 July at the Independent Theatre, North Sydney. Five Finalists will be selected to perform in the finals concert on Thursday 31 August at the Concert Hall, The Concourse, Chatswood.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Singers auditioned during heats held in Australia and New Zealand for the 2023 National Adjudicator, principal tenor and artist manager Patrick Togher. Patrick brings a wealth of experience and talent to this prestigious competition, having worked as an Opera Australia Principal and star of the Phantom of the Opera in his continuing high-profile career.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Now in its 41st year the ASC has showcased nearly 3,000 singers who have competed for more than $2.6 million in prizes. Previous winners include Rachelle Durkin, Amelia Farrugia, Stuart Skelton, Paul Whelan, and Jessica Pratt, who have all gone on to achieve national and international
