Violinist Max Richter’s ninth studio album In A Landscape<\/em> is released\u00a0on 6 September 2024 on the Decca label.\u00a0Celebrating the release of this album, Richter will be making a debut world tour which includes a visit to Australia in late February 2025 as well as concerts in the United Kingdom, Europe, North America and Canada, performing at London\u2019s\u00a0 Royal Festival Hall and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. Ticket sales are open.<\/div>\n

In Sydney, Richter will perform with the American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME) at the Sydney Opera House.<\/div>\n

The second single from this album The Poetry of Earth<\/em> is already available.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
In A Landscape<\/em> delves deeper into the themes of optimism and human emotion accompanied by an innovative exploration of electronic sounds and \ufb01eld recordings. It is a record about reconciling polarities, bringing together the electronic and the acoustic, the human and the natural world, the big questions of life and the quiet pleasures of living, a self-portrait of a musician in constant motion.<\/div>\n

In A Landscape<\/em> is Richter\u2019s \ufb01rst solo album recorded at Studio Richter Mahr in Oxfordshire, the eco-conscious retreat designed and operated by Richter and his wife, visual artist Yulia Mahr, a place in which to meditate on the present while recognising a lifetime of artistic in\ufb02uence, from Bach and Purcell to the poetry of Keats, Wordsworth and Anne Carson. Richter was also inspired by several books which he was reading at the time of writing In A Landscape,<\/em> with many of the track titles on the album named after lines from literature and some of his own treasured paperbacks pictured on the album cover.<\/div>\n

Beyond his solo endeavors, Richter\u2019s is a proli\ufb01c collaborator who has worked with esteemed creatives and visionaries across multiple disciplines. From scoring Dior shows for Kim Jones to composing for ballets choreographed by Wayne McGregor or his contributions to the world of cinema and TV with directors Denis Villeneuve, Martin Scorsese, and Ari Folman, Richter\u2019s versatility knows no bounds.<\/div>\n
