Fanfare-like brass chorales contrast with \u00a0purely vocal Renaissance music, laden\u00a0with sumptuous contrapuntal arches.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The programme includes works by the princes of Renaissance music &#8211; Palestrina\u2019s Missa Hodie Christus Natus Est (Mass based on \u2018Christ is born this day\u2019), Victoria\u2019s Quem Vidistis Pastores, Lasso\u2019s Tui Sunt Caeli and favourite carols of Michael Praetorius.<\/p>\n<p>The choir and instrumentalists will together perform Gabrieli\u2019s O Magnum Mysterium. \u00a0The musicians of Australian Baroque Brass will be showcased in a performance of Canzonas by Frescobaldi.
