Zinman is the Music Director of\u00a0the <em>Tonhalle<\/em> in Zurich to which he was appointed in 1995. Renowned for his creative programming, he has also appeared as guest conductor with the major orchestras of the world &#8211; the Boston Symphony, Chicago Symphony, the\u00a0Cleveland and Philadelphia Orchestras,\u00a0the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Orchestre de Paris, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the\u00a0Wiener Symphoniker, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the\u00a0Orchestre National de France.<\/p>\n<p>The first Sydney concert features Mozart&#8217;s <em>Requiem<\/em> and Poulenc&#8217;s <em>Gloria. <\/em>In a second May concert\u00a0he conducts\u00a0Berlioz&#8217; <em>Benvenuto Cellini <\/em>and Roman Carnival Overtures<em>, <\/em>Beethoven&#8217;s <em>Piano Concerto No.2<\/em>\u00a0and Elgar&#8217;s <em>Falstaff<\/em>. Swiss-German pianist\u00a0Andreas Haefliger, a graduate of the Juillard School of Music is the soloist.<\/p>\n<p>David Zinman\u00a0recently worked with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
