Following her immensely popular success as Violetta in La Traviata <\/em>performed on Sydney Harbour, soprano Emma Matthews takes to a more intimate venue with pianist Kate Golla under the auspices of Hunters Hill Music. The duo perform a recital at Hunters Hill Town Hall.<\/p>\n

This week, Hunters Hill Music have\u00a0announced the repertoire for the recital which is\u00a0a collection of\u00a0works from\u00a0opera and art song and concert arias,\u00a0from baroque to Bernstein.<\/p>\n

It’s demanding repertoire\u00a0from Handel, Mozart, Schubert, Faure, Duparc and Bernstein sung in English, Italian, French and German.\u00a0Amongst them are arias from roles that Emma Matthews has performed for Opera Australia – most recently, Partenope’s aria ‘Just as a butterfly’ from\u00a0Handel’s opera of the same name (2011), Cunegonde’s ‘Glitter and Be Gay’ from Bernstein’s Candide<\/em> (Sydney\u00a0Festival 2010) and Almirena’s ‘Lascia ch’io pianga’ from Handel’s Rinaldo<\/em> (2005).<\/p>\n

This programme could well represent everything you’ve ever wanted to hear Emma Matthews sing!<\/p>\n
