Strauss ll,\u00a0Offenbach&#8217;s <em>Orpheus in the Underworld<\/em> and .<em>Mythic<\/em> by Elena Kats-Chernin, a short work for full orchestra\u00a0written\u00a0on commission from Symphony Australia for performance by the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, which premiered the work conducted by Ola Rudner in 2004.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_7403\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7403\" style=\"width: 100px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-7403\" title=\"Simon\" src=\"https:\/\/soundslikesydney.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/Simon1-100x100.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"100\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-7403\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Simon Tedeschi<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Simon Tedeschi&#8217;s career as a pianist has taken him around the world&#8217;s concert halls, into the recording studio, and into collaborations with major performers and orchestras, including Australia&#8217;s major symphony orchestras, James Morrison, Yvonne Kenny, and jazz pianist Kevin Hunt.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_7404\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7404\" style=\"width: 100px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-7404\" title=\"Steven\" src=\"https:\/\/soundslikesydney.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/Steven-100x100.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"100\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-7404\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Steven Hillinger<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The 50 strong North Sydney Symphony Orchestra hasbeen active since it was founded in 1947.\u00a0 Its present conductor Steven Hillinger\u00a0 is a \u00a0graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music,\u00a0and has studied conducting with Henryk Pisarek and Johm Hopkins.
