{"id":8910,"date":"2012-08-12T16:46:39","date_gmt":"2012-08-12T06:46:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/soundslikesydney.com.au\/?p=8910"},"modified":"2012-08-12T16:46:39","modified_gmt":"2012-08-12T06:46:39","slug":"victorian-pianist-wins-sydney-eisteddfod-piano-scholarship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/soundslikesydney.com.au\/?p=8910","title":{"rendered":"Victorian Pianist wins Sydney Eisteddfod Piano Scholarship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8911\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8911\" style=\"width: 325px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-8911\" title=\"Konrad Olszewski2\" src=\"https:\/\/soundslikesydney.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/Konrad-Olszewski2-325x216.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"325\" height=\"216\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8911\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Konrad Olszewski<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Twenty-four-year-old Victorian pianist Konrad Olsezewski has\u00a0taken out\u00a0the prestigious $10,000 Allison\/Henderson Sydney Eisteddfod Piano Scholarship with a\u00a0winning performance, Konrad played the <em>Piano Sonata No 2 in B-flat minor, Opus 36, (1st version)<\/em> by Sergei Rachmaninoff.<\/p>\n<p>Konrad recently completed a Bachelor of Music with Honours at the University of Melbourne and is now studying for a Master&#8217;s degree\u00a0in Musical Performance\u00a0under the tutelage of Glenn Riddle.\u00a0The connection is an auspicious one because coincidentally, Glenn Riddle won this scholarship when it bowed into the Sydney Eisteddfod programme in 1982.<\/p>\n<p>In recent\u00a0years, Konrad has\u00a0consolidated his career with\u00a0many awards and prizes and\u00a0a recital in Chopin\u2019s birthplace in Zelazowa, Poland.\u00a0\u00a0When he\u00a0completes his Masters, Konrad hopes to continue his studies overseas with Leslie Howard, with Piers Lane and\u00a0at the Chopin Academy in Warsaw, Poland.<\/p>\n<p>Adjudicators Dr Julie Haskell and Mark Coughlan were impressed with the high standard of the\u00a0performances given by pianists from around the nation.\u00a0Ling Ling Chen (Vic), Oliver She (Qld) and Quang Hong Luu from Sefton, NSW,\u00a0were the other finalists.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 Twenty-four-year-old Victorian pianist Konrad Olsezewski has\u00a0taken out\u00a0the prestigious $10,000 Allison\/Henderson Sydney Eisteddfod Piano Scholarship with a\u00a0winning performance, Konrad played the Piano&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":8911,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[],"sls_format":[],"class_list":["post-8910","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news"],"acf":{"deck":"","is_featured":false,"media_type":"standard","audio_embed":"","video_url":""},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.2 -
