The 7 Sopranos celebrate\u00a0Christmas in song this festive season with their\u00a0‘Joyeux Noel\u2019 Christmas Concert <\/em>at the Art Gallery of NSW. They will perform seasonal and other\u00a0favourites, surrounded by one of the finest collections of 19th<\/sup> Century Art in the country.\u00a0The septet of female voices led by\u00a0Tarita Botsman-Carbo comprises Deborah Rogers, Stephanie Acraman, Keara Donohoe, Katie Stenzel, Michaela Leisk, and Naomi Johns. The\u00a0Australian conductor Simon Kenway performs alongside them at the piano.<\/p>\n The concert is supplemented with a private viewing of the Francis Bacon (1909 -1992)\u00a0exhibition and a welcome glass of champagne. After the concert,\u00a0there’s the\u00a0opportunity to mix and mingle with The 7 Sopranos over a 2 course dinner and complimentary glass of bubbles at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth.<\/p>\n This is the first major\u00a0exhibition in Australia\u00a0of works\u00a0by the Irish born British painter, considered a master of post-war British art.\u00a0The collection contains over 50 paintings \u2013 many of them monumental in size \u2013 as well as archival material from his studio, films and photographs,\u00a0covering every decade of his career, from the pensive and shocking works of the 1940s to the exuberantly coloured and visceral large paintings of the 1970s and 80s.<\/p>\n
