Jane Rutter’s Award Recital
Flautist Jane Rutter has been awarded the prestigious French medal Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et Lettres (‘Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters’) a French award of recognition for significant contributions to Arts & Literature.
To celebrate this achievement, Jane will perform an exclusive 75 minute ‘cocktail hour’ concert of French Classical repertoire on five different solo flutes. During the concert, she will be officially decorated by His Excellency Mr Christophe Lecourtier, Ambassador of France to Australia.
The concert includes French Gregorian Chant and works by Debussy, Devienne, Marais, Satie, Poulenc, Ferroud, Aznavour & philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s solo arrangement of Vivaldi’s Spring from The Four Seasons, played on a handmade 1887 Louis Lot flute (the flute equivalent of a Stradivarius).
As a finale accordionist Marcello Maio will accompany Jane in a selection of popular French Chansons arranged for flute.
Jane has an extensive discography and a versatile repertoire from the classics to cabaret. An expert in the French Flute School, she was invited to the prestigious International French Flute convention, La Vième Convention de la Flûte Française 2016 and will perform in Paris on 23 October.
