Live at Lunch: French Kiss – An Australian in Paris

The six 2013 Live at Lunch performances feature some of Australia’s most prominent musical artists including pianist Simon Tedeschi, Vocalist Cho Ki Wong, Guitarist/Vocalist Rick Price, soprano Taryn Fiebig, and Jane Rutter herself.

Known her classical, multi-media and cabaret performances, Jane Rutter has appeared as guest soloist with prominent artists such as Richard Bonynge, Michael Crawford, David Helfgott and Slava Grigoryan. She has also curated series for the Regent Hotel Supper Club, a series of Soiree Intimes live at the Botanical Gardens, a series of concerts at the Karnak Playhouse in Far North Queensland and devised, directed and co-produced a series of concerts in the Regents Park Open Air Theatre, London.

“It is a great pleasure to have someone of Jane Rutter’s calibre curate this wonderful series of music, especially given her strong connections to the local area,” said Greg Khoury, Executive Director of Century Venues, The Concourse.

Having performed at the Willoughby Town Hall in her youth, Jane Rutter has continued her association with the area through regular performances and activities.

Of her appointment Jane Ruter said, “The site of The Concourse has many wonderful memories for me. (When I am not living in Paris!), I would describe myself as a true ‘North Shore girl’, so it is with great joy and a sense of honour that I am taking up the position of Artistic Director for the new lunchtime concert series. This venue is without doubt world-class, it will give me great pleasure to present world-class music in what has been and will always be one of my favourite stomping grounds”.

This lunchtime concert, Vive la Flute Francaise!, includes luscious music from the Parisienne Belle Epoque and beyond. Jane Rutter (flute) with Cho Ki Wong (piano).
