Nadia Piave – A Concert For Easter

Nadia Easter

Soprano Nadia Piave and Gino Pengue playing guitar, cittern and guitarlele, present I dreamed I saw St Augustine…a concert for Easter, a collection of chants, hymns and chansons – music for reflection before Easter

Songs include Petite Fleur, A flower is a lovesom thing,  Le jardin extraordinaire, I dreamed I saw St Augustine, Agnus Dei (John Benet), Tu stella Mia, Loveliest of Trees, Hard Rain, Be Thou My Vision, Simple Gifts, pange lingua (Thomas Aquinas), Pastorcito Santo … and more.

Says Nadia, “In December last year I performed a Christmas concert in the beautiful St Peter Chanel chapel in Hunters Hill, and this reminded me Sydney boasts many such small churches and sacred spaces. The wonderful little sandstone church hall attached to St Augustine’s Balmain is such a space and it provides a perfect architectural and acoustic backdrop for a concert of songs that, put simply, I love, have provided solace and have in the past given me pause for reflection…what better time to share these songs than in the lead up to Easter.”

Nadia Piave is a Sydney performer, teacher, choir mistress and workshop leader. She is performing more than ever before with her performing partners  who include guitarists Gino Pengue and Robert Clancy, pianists Mauro Colombis, John Martin and Daniel Rojas, percussionist, singer and trumpeter Jess Ciampa, accordionists Ross and Lukas Maio and flautists Tina Marsden and Carla Thakrah

Nadia invites you to a glass of bubbles and colomba (traditional Italian Easter cake) afterwards.

Tickets: at the door: $25
