Opera Australia is offering a grab bag of once-in-a-lifetime experiences in its Annual Online Auction which is open on eBay until Sunday 15 December. All funds raised through the auction go towards Opera Australia’s Moffatt Oxenbould Young Artist Program (YAP).
The YAP is a two year training program for selected Australian opera singers and provides these emerging artists the opportunity to be mentored by experienced artists and receive instruction in all aspects of operatic performance. All proceeds raised by the auction support this valuable project which has given rise to opera stars like Taryn Fiebig and Warwick Fyfe.

“The Opera Australia Online Auction is a great opportunity for opera and non-opera goers to support the development of Australia’s future classical stars and buy some truly unique Christmas gifts. The funds raised allow the Company to discover new artists, nurture their talents and teach them the skills they need for a career on the opera stage,” Opera Australia’s Artistic Director, Lyndon Terracini said.

There are 35 auction listings available for bidding, including luxury goods, travel packages, theatre tickets, wine, gourmet dining and operatic experiences. Highlights include:
 “Climb The Sails” Experience
 Conduct the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra at Mazda Opera in the Domain
 Walk on role in Opera Australia’s Carmen
 Backstage experience at Opera Australia’s The Magic Flute
 Take control of a Qantas Flight Simulator
Opera Australia’s Online Auction closes on Sunday 15 December
