Nicole Car – The Kiss CD Signing
Soprano Nicole Car will be meeting her fans and signing copies of her debut album The Kiss at Fish Fine Music in the Queen Victoria Building in Sydney from 12 noon on Sunday 21 February.
Released on ABC Classics just this month, The Kiss has shot to #1 on the classical charts and to #2 on the crossover chart.
On The Kiss, Nicole sings the arias at which she excels – 19th-century gems from roles that she has taken on stage and those that she has yet to perform.
The title of the recording comes from the opera Hubička (The Kiss), by Smetana, from which Nicole has recorded Vendulka’s Lullaby: Hajej, můj andílku (Hush-a-bye, my angel). Other tracks include Tatyana’s Letter Scene from Eugene Onegin, the effervescent Jewel Song from Gounod’s Faust, Mi chiamano Mimì (They call me Mimì) from La bohème, Micaëla’s Aria from Carmen and other selections by Verdi, Rimsky-Korsakov, Cilea, Massenet and Dvorak.
Currently performing in the title role of Luisa Miller at the Sydney Opera House, Nicole has recently returned from the Royal Opera Covent Garden where she sang her signature role of Tatiana in Eugene Onegin and Micaëla in Carmen.
Performing with Nicole on The Kiss, is the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra conducted by Andrea Molino.
