Omega Ensemble Releases Recording Of Mozart Trio
Omega Ensemble has released Mozart’s Trio in E-flat Major, K. 498 ‘Kegelstatt’ on ABC Classic and you can listen on Apple Music, Spotify or Google Play.
Mozart’s Trio for Clarinet, Viola and Piano was first performed in the home of pianist Franziska von Jacquin, with Mozart himself on viola and the famous Anton Sadler on Clarinet, for whom Mozart also wrote his Clarinet Quintet and Concerto. The German word Kegelstatt means “a place where skittles are played” – a type of lawn bowls popular during the time.
