Robertissimo – Double Album Commemorates Roberto Alagna’s Debut Australian Tour
Roberto Alagna is coming to Sydney, and to commemorate his Australian debut next month, Deutsche Grammophon is releasing a special Australian Tour Edition of Robertissimo a 2-CD album which features Alagna at his magnetic best. The recording includes arias by Verdi, Donizetti, Massenet and Puccini as well as some lighter works from Abbalati, México and Shostakovich.
Recorded in 2013, the recording features a number of orchestras, like the Paris Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Royal Opera, Covent Garden and legendary conductors like Claudio Abbado, Mark Elder and Bertrand de Billy. Angela Gheorghiu and the London voices are also featured on the recording.
Roberto Alagna’s tour to Australia follows a three month season at New York’s Metropolitan Opera and appearnaces at the Bavarian State Opera in June and July. Performing with him on tour is German based Australian soprano Siobhan Stagg.
They will be accompanied in Sydney by the Australian Sinfonietta conducted by Stefano Miceli.
