See The Barber Of Seville And Support The Leukaemia Foundation

One of the world’s most loved comic operas, Rossini’s The Barber of Seville, celebrates its 200th anniversary on Saturday 20 February. To mark the occasion, Opera Australia has joined forces with World’s Greatest Shave to donate a portion of ticket sales to the Leukaemia Foundation.
For every ticket purchased to the Sydney Opera House season of The Barber of Seville via http://worldsgreatestshave.com/events, Opera Australia will donate $18.16 to the Leukaemia Foundation. The season concludes on 22 March, 2016.
Chris McMillan, General Manager from the Leukaemia Foundation says “Every day in Australia, 34 people will be diagnosed with leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma and unfortunately many sufferers are children or young adults. Money raised from World’s Greatest Shave is used to help these Australians when they need it most through counselling, information services, accommodation and transport during treatment and of course contributing to research programs to find a cure. We encourage all Australians to follow Figaro’s lead and register to shave or colour their hair ahead of shave weekend March 10-13.”
“Take a friend with you to see the Barber of Seville and together the contribution from your tickets will allow the Foundation to give emotional support to someone to help overcome the initial shock of a diagnosis.”
