Myths And Legends With The Willoughby Symphony

The Willoughby Symphony’s Myths and Legends concert is an evocative program featuring the innovative works of 2015 Composer-in-Residence, Elena Kats-Chernin and guest soloist, Sydney cellist Ruben Palma, a finalist in the  2014 Australian Cello Awards.

The programme opens with Elena Kats-Chernin’s evocative Mythic, a large-scale orchestral piece with a dark, meditative and romantic character. 

Conducted by Stephen Mould, the concert features cellist Ruben Palma performing Robert Schumann’s glorious Cello Concerto, followed by a performance of Beethoven’s 8th Symphony

The concert will also feature the world premiere of the 2015 Willoughby Symphony/Fine Music 102.5 Young Composer Award.
