The ensemble will premiere Lachlan Skipworth’s Piano Quartet, a synthesis of Japanese tonal colours set in a uniquely Australian landscape, in which the piano quartet is re-invented in an innovative and evolving contemporary canvas.
Sydney violinist and APQ Emerging Artist Anna Da Silva Chen joins the ensemble for Schumann’s Piano Quintet in E flat major Op. 44.
The Australian Piano Quartet, comprising violinist Rebecca Chan, viola player James Wannan, cellist Thomas Rann and pianist Daniel de Borah is resident at the University of Technology, Sydney. They have recently performed at Melbourne Recital Centre and Queensland Music Festival, performed live on BBC Radio 3, the Helpmann Awards and made their debut at the Barbican Centre, London.
