After an outstanding performance of J S Bach’s St John Passion at Easter, the Choir of St James’ King Street and period ensemble BachBand@StJames’ join forces once again, directed by Warren Trevelyan-Jones, to present a cantata for Trinity Sunday  O heil’ ges Geist – und Wasserbad BWV 165 in a liturgical setting.

First performed on Trinity Sunday, 16 June 1715 at the Weimar court, this six-movement cantata was written for performance by a select group of court employees in a small chapel using the Trinity Sunday themes of water and the Holy Spirit – to be cleansed and born again through Baptism and the Eucharist.

Admission is free.
