Celebrate France’s national day with La Rêvolution: A Bastille Day Concert as some of Australia’s best-loved classical musicians take to the stage at Sydney’s City Recital Hall which will be transformed into a Parisian salon for the occasion.
Yvonne Kenny, one of Australia’s most distinguished sopranos, will perform French arias, chansons and salon pieces with celebrated Australian flautist Jane Rutter, virtuoso accordéonist Marcello Maio and one of Australia’s most outstanding young baritones, Andrew Jones.
Encapsulating the heart of the French Romantic era, artistic director Jane Rutter has created a programme which includes Debussy’s Clair de Lune, Cole Porter’s So In Love and Erik Satie’s classical Parisian cabaret favourite La Diva de l’Empire.
Accompanied by harpist Owen Torr and pianist Vincent Colagiuri, La Rêvolution promises a musical journey to the heart of Paris for Bastille Day.
