Join the Choir of St James’ directed by Warren Trevelyan-Jones with organist Alistair Nelson and their regular collaborators Australian Baroque Brass for Songs of Jubilation – a vivid reconstruction of Yuletide as celebrated during the early seventeenth century in a festival of early music which encapsulates the joyous Christmas spirit.

This composite work with artistic direction by John Foster, is a grand and buoyant mix of motets, rousing congregational hymns, plainchant, and interludes played on period instruments.

Inspired by Paul McCreesh’s award-winning reconstruction of the Lutheran Christmas Mass, it highlights the work of Michael Praetorius, one of the forefathers of the early Baroque period.
