The Australian Brandenburg Orchestra’s Noël! Noël! concerts have become an annual fixture during the Christmas season. This year the orchestra, under the direction of Paul Dyer AO, is again joined by the Brandenburg Choir and introduces New Zealand soprano Madison Nonoa to embrace the community spirit and enjoy Brandenburg traditions in celebrating the spirituality, the splendour and the surprise of Christmas.

Paul always includes music that moves people of all faiths and beliefs. There’s always something fun and Paul throws in some twists to give each year’s Christmas series something unique.

This year’s Christmas favourites include Stille Nacht, O Come All Ye Faithful, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Once in Royal David’s City, The Coventry Carol and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen with

Caccini Ave Maria/ Anon. Amazing Grace/ Ben Folds The Luckiest/ Ola Gjeilo The Spheres from Sunrise Mass/ Ēriks Ešenvalds O Salutaris Hostia

Madison Nonoa has a Bachelor of Music with first-class honours from the University of Auckland. She is a Sir Edmund Hillary Scholar at the University of Waikato and a Dame Malvina Major Emerging Artist with New Zealand Opera. She has performed the role of Papagena in The Magic Flute and is a former member of the New Zealand Youth Choir, an alumna of the New Zealand Opera School and New Zealand Singing School. She has been a finalist and winner of many aria competitions around New Zealand. In the 2014 Lexus Song Quest, Madison was the youngest semi-finalist and RNZ Concert Listeners’ Choice Award winner.
