Stravinsky Complete Edition
The entire works of Igor Stravinsky have been compiled onto a 30 CD collection Stravinsky Complete Edition for release on October 16 by Deutsche Grammophon.
The collection comprises Stage Works (Ballets, Operas, Oratorio), Orchestral, Choral, Solo Vocal, Chamber and Piano Works. The collection includes 2 CDs of Historical Recordings and the final CD features a recent performance of Martha Argerich and Daniel Barenboim in the piano duet arrangement of The Rite of Spring.
The performers include an array of great Stravinsky interpreters including Abbado, Ashkenazy, Bernstein, Bostridge, Boulez, Chailly, Gardiner, the Labèques, Langridge, Levine, Maisky, Mustonen, Mutter, Nagano, Pletnev, Pollini, Terfel as well as Stravinsky himself, conducting a 1935 recording of his Violin Concerto. Featured ensembles include the Paris Conservatoire Orchestra and Ensemble InterContemporain.
