Symphony, Opera and Art Song from the North Sydney Symphony
Love, death, longing or just sheer beauty, the North Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s August concert has music to warm your heart this winter. On the programme are the ominously dramatic of overture to Verdi’s opera The Force of Destiny, (featured on the soundtrack of the classic French films, Jean de Florette and Manon des Sources), the delightful melodies and playful wisdom of Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8, and the radiant beauty of Richard Strauss’s Four Last Songs with rising young soprano, Sarah Ann Walker, giving her debut performance of Strauss’s elegaic masterwork. This is music that speaks directly to the soul.
Come and hear this talented group of local musicians who are passionate about what they do, led by the Sydney Symphony’s Shuti Huang, conducted by Steven Hillinger.
