The Choir Of St James’ Marks The Centenary Of The Armistice

To mark the 100th anniversary of Armistice, The Choir of St James’ will perform music of sacrifice, loss and hope in its Voice from Heaven programme. The main feature of the concert is a performance of Johannes Brahms’ Ein deutches Requiem, accompanied by Bradley Gilchrist and Christian Lillicrap on pianos.

Complementing the Brahms Requiem are two setting of ‘Audivi vocem de coelo’ (I heard a voice from heaven) by Duarte Lobo and Thomas Tallis, Edgar Bainton’s ‘And I saw a new Heaven’ and Heinrch Schutz’s sublime ‘Selig sind die Toten’
