The award-winning a capella vocal ensemble The Idea of North, presents Christmas Carols by Candlelight in an end-of-year event that promises, they say, to make you feel all the feels: Fizzy. Squishy. Misty. Classy. Laughy. Singy. Festivy.
This year, soprano Emma Rule, alto Naomi Crellin, tenor Nick Begbie and bass Luke Thompson who together make up The Idea of North, are joined by the vocal percussionist Kai Kitamura for the entire festive season. All the way from Tokyo, Kai’s musical, subtle, often hilarious mouth drumming is the perfect complement to The Idea of North’s audience-pleasing mix of songs you love (given face-lifts), and new songs introduced to you with TION’s trademark warmth, humour and emotive depth.
