Timothy Matthies Leaves Musica Viva For The Queensland Symphony Orchestra
Timothy Matthies, Musica Viva’s Director of Artist Development has been appointed Director of Artistic Planning for the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.
With more than 25 years of experience in the music profession, Tim Matthies’ national presence at the nation’s oldest independent arts organisation will be sorely missed and comes as Musica Viva’s other leaders CEO Mary Jo Capps and Artistic Director Carl Vine also step down this year and next.
The Queensland Symphony Orchestra looks to a new era with the appointment of Matthies and a successful inaugural season for newly appointed Music Director Alondra de la Parra.
Mr Matthies will begin his new role from 25 June 2018.
