Trinity Grammar School Concert Highlights Female Composers
Sydney’s champions of adventurous new music, Ensemble Offspring presents an intimate programme of music inspired by lyrical birdsong and the weird and wonderful sounds of the Australian bush.
The ensemble will be appearing for the first time at Delmar Gallery in a trio presentation by flautist Lamorna Nightingale, clarinettist Jason Noble and percussionist Claire Edwardes.
Presented by the Trinity Grammar School’s Society of the Arts as part of the 2018 Concert Series at Delmar Gallery, the programme spotlights female composers as well as the newest of the new living music. Every work on the program was written in collaboration with the musicians of Ensemble Offspring and features them as soloists and long time passionate chamber music collaborators.
The programme:
Fiona Loader – Lorikeet Corroboree/ Hollis Taylor – Owen Springs Reserve/ Tristan Coelho – As The Dust Settles/ Felicity Wilcox – Yurabirong/ Melody Eotvos – Leafcutter & Tardigradus
The concert will be held in conjunction with RAW Wedderburn, an exhibition of paintings spanning four decades by six distinguished Australian artists working from the Wedderburn studios.
Tickets: $10 – $30
