V is for Venice
For its first concert of the year, the Leichhardt Espresso Chorus, with over 100 voices will perform the stunning Gloria by Vivaldi, written in Venice for singers in a girls’ orphanage. It is framed with music by Australia’s foremost contemporary music composer Elena Kats-Chernin in an arrangement by outstanding saxophone soloist Christina Leonard, recently performing with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra.
Also in the programme, Arvo Pärt’s Salve Regina, and Alice Chance’s haunting piece Coalescence.
Join the chorus for a glass of champagne after the concert!
Tickets $30/25/20 at espressochorus.com.au. Performances Saturday 6pm and Sunday 3pm.
