Voices of Angels GLORIA!
Two hundred of Australia’s finest young voices celebrate Christmas with the spectacular music of the Baroque in Voices of Angels GLORIA!
Directed by Lyn Williams, OAM and accompanied by a baroque chamber orchestra, the programme includes music by Handel and new arrangements of beloved Christmas music.
Presented by City Recital Hall and Gondwana Choirs, the Australian leaders in choral performance will take you back to 17th century Europe, when the voices of the orphans of the Ospedale della Pietà and the Foundling Hospital were made famous under the tuition of Vivaldi and Handel.
The young women of the Sydney Children’s Choir and Gondwana Voices will perform one of sacred music’s most inspiring choral works, Vivaldi’s Gloria RV 589, as the young men of the choir stage Handel’s inspiring, Anthem on the Peace.
