The Sydney Opera House recreates its inaugural concert given on September 1973.

Sir Charles Mackerras conducted an all Wagner programme which featured soprano Birgit Nilsson.

This afternoon ABC TV screens the August 2013 concert in which Simone Young conducted a reprise of that programme with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and soprano Christine Brewer.
