Willoughby Symphony Features The Music Of Westlake
Nigel Westlake, the Willoughby Symphony’s 2018 Composer-in-Residence is guest conductor for Flight, a breathtaking concert of Nigel’s innovative works.
One of Australia’s greatest composers, Nigel Westlake’s music has won numerous awards and is performed all over the world. He has created several dramatic film soundtracks as well.
The opening item of music from the evocative score for the film Paper Planes will be followed by the extraordinary Antarctica for solo guitar and orchestra, which will be performed by the brilliant young Australian guitarist Andrew Blanch.
In the concert’s second half, Willoughby Symphony Chorusmaster Peter Ellis conducts two gorgeous works for choir by Ralph Vaughan Williams performed by the Willoughby Symphony Choir and the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra.
