Choral Championship winners ‘Soulfood’ present ‘Soul Revue’
‘Soulfood’ the winners of the 2013 John Lamble Foundation Australasian Open Choral Championship at the Sydney Eisteddfod, presents their September concert ‘Soul Revue’.
The Sydney based a capella ensemble will perform classics by James Brown, Al Green, Marvin Gaye and Aretha Franklin. Hear some old favourites from this great era – I Heard it through the Grapevine, Tears of a Clown, My Girl, Let’s Stay Together and many more.
There are over 50 members spread over five voice parts: soprano, mezzo-soprano, alto, tenor and bass, and range from ages 18 through to 72. Musical Director, Melissa Kenny established Soulfood in 2004 out of a passion for soul music and rich vocal harmony. She, and other choristers write the arrangements for the choir.
