The Sydney University Graduate Choir and its Music Director, Christopher Bowen OAM, are delighted to announce a performance of Verdi’s powerful Requiem in the magnificent Sydney Town Hall.

This concert will be part of the Choir’s Sydney Sings series, and will be presented with a large guest chorus drawn from across NSW and a full orchestra of professional musicians brought together specially for the occasion.

Soloists soprano Natalie Aroyan, alto Ashlyn Timms, tenor Henry Choo  and bass Adrian Tamburini, will be supported by a choir of over 200 singers.

Verdi’s Requiem is a masterpiece of the Romantic era. Marshalling his resources as a dramatist and lyrical composer, Verdi, one of the greatest opera composers of all time, created a powerful and moving reflection on life and death.

The choir of over 200 singers promises to lift the roof off the Town Hall.

The soloists assembled for this performance are a particularly fine ensemble of professional singers, all of whom have significant achievements in operatic repertoire to bring to their performance.  It promises to be an unforgettable afternoon of music-making.
