Ensemble Offspring’s ‘Trussed’ Highlights Iconic Female Composers

Ensemble Offspring’s Avant Gardens heads into the backyards and backrooms of their very own musicians’ homes to make some noise in Trussed. Join them for this intimate concert experience featuring unusual line ups, much loved ‘avant garde’ classics and experimental music never heard before.

Trussed features EO’s stunning cellist Blair Harris alongside Artistic Director Claire Edwardes and 2021 Hatched Associate Artist Will Harris, in an array of works by iconic female composers Caroline Shaw, Kaija Saariaho and Karen Tanaka, a flower-pot classic by Frederic Rzewski and works celebrating low strings by Luke Styles and Alfred Schittke.

Avant Gardens musical experience in four homes around Sydney is brought to you by the ever-creative musicians of Ensemble Offspring during Australia’s COVID concert hall recovery. Depending on demand, each program will be repeated twice. This concert will be presented at a home in Tempe.
