Horizon Classical presents Rapture & Ruin

July 24 @ 7:30 pm

Horizon Classical presents Rapture & Ruin — an immersive orchestral evening built around Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2, performed by Australian pianist Calvin Abdiel with conductor Hans Sangtoki and Horizon Orchestral Studio.

Rapture. Ruin. Release. — Beauty that breaks you.

Three Russian masters. One evening. Rapture & Ruin traces the emotional arc of the Romantic imagination — from Glinka’s
exhilarating Overture to Ruslan and Ludmilla and Tchaikovsky’s Fantasy Overture to Romeo and Juliet culminating in Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No 2 written on the other side of failure, still unmatched for sheer emotional reach.

Horizon Orchestral Studio is an emerging artistic development platform dedicated to forming conductors, musicians, and audiences through orchestral experiences rooted in mentorship, responsibility, artistic excellence, and cultural leadership. Designed to bridge the gap between advanced training and professional practice, Horizon creates real rehearsal and performance opportunities for emerging conductors while presenting ambitious public performances that invite audiences into the depth, beauty, and emotional power of orchestral music.
