Piers Lane performs Chopin By Candlelight
Pianist Piers Lane, one of the world’s greats, will be on tour nationally with a programme of works by Chopin. In Sydney there will be two concerts, one at the City Recital Hall and the other in Penrith.
Called Chopin by Candlelight, Piers Lane will play a selection of Chopin’s achingly beautiful music in the mystical glow of candlelight. The concert will feature a spectrum of works, including the Fantasie in F minor Op. 49, the Ballade No 3 in A flat major Op 47, the Etude in E major Op 10. No. 3 (Tristesse), the Barcarolle Op. 60, and the Polonaise in F sharp minor.
Piers Lane is one of Australia’s most acclaimed pianists both here and overseas. He is also artistic director of both the Australian Festival of Chamber Music and the Sydney International Piano Competition, Lane has performed in the world’s great concert halls, attracting remarkable reviews for his brilliant and sensitive performances.
