Gallipoli Songs
Soprano Ayse Göknur Shanal and pianist Patrick Keith will be presenting Cannakale-Gallipoli Songs, a program of 4 newly commissioned song cycles which were written for the centenary of the Gallipoli campaign, 1915. The songs are written by Ross Fiddes, Wayne Dixon, Diana Blom, and Erberk Eryilmaz, who first took soldiers’ personal accounts of these times, which were then set to music, resulting in 4 stunning new song cycles which recorded onto CD and produced in 2015.
The project then goes on tour to 4 cities in Australia – Wollongong, Sydney, Tamworth and Armidale – before further performances in Cologne, Munich, Erfurt, and Seesen (Germany).
