Exquisite Harmonies is a new album release on the Move Records label featuring The Marais Project comprising acclaimed viola da gambist Jennifer Eriksson and harpsichordist Anthony Abouhamad.
Thie richly expressive collection of French and German Baroque repertoire features works by Sainte-Colombe, Marin Marais, Antoine Forqueray, Georg Philipp Telemann, Louis de Caix d’Hervelois, François Couperin and Carl Friedrich Abel.
The album also includes contemporary Australian works by Abouhamad, Fantasia after Telemann, and Biripi and Gamillaroi composer Troy Russell. The latter’s The Acceptance is arranged by Tommie Andersson for which he and violinist/vocalist Susie Bishop join the ensemble.
The 19 track line-up includes Suites, Sonatas and Fantasias in a celebration of the distinct soundscape of the European Baroque. The accompanying booklet incudes comprehensive notes, biographies and vivid imagery.
